Learn to Read Music

Learning the piano, but still counting lines to work out which note you’re looking at? Our new web app can help!

Learn to Read Music teaches you to read notes on the staff by playing them. A note appears, you play it on a MIDI keyboard, your computer keyboard or the on-screen keyboard, and the app brings back the notes you struggle with more often.

You progress through levels from the treble clef to the grand staff, and a short exam validates each one. Levels 1 to 8 are available now, and chords, accidentals and rhythm are coming soon.

It’s free and open source, available in French and English, and there’s no sign-up: your progress stays in your browser.
